The Milwaukee Police Department has released bodycam footage from a police shooting that occurred on January 6, leaving a man injured.
Officers were in the area of 7th and Arthur Streets at approximately 9:30 p.m. searching for a suspect wanted for child sexual assault.
Police were able to make contact with the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Emilio Arner-Ortiz, who then brandished a firearm.
The footage shows a struggle between the officer and Arner-Ortiz, which ended with the officer shooting him.
Arner-Ortiz survived the incident and faces multiple charges, including second-degree sexual assault of a child under 16.
