An adult woman was killed and a child seriously injured in a crash this past weekend in Sauk County.
The accident occurred on Sunday along Highway 12 at Groth Road in the Town of Sumpter.
Deputies found a vehicle off the road in a wooded area, where the woman driver was pronounced dead.
A child was trapped in the vehicle and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities believe speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
