A local woman at an assisted living home got to go on a special field trip.
101-year-old Lucy Redo is a resident at Meadow View Assisted Living in Two Rivers.
She got the chance to take a surprise trip next door to Lucky Paws Pet Boutique to see a special project that’s been going on over the last several months.
The pet boutique was under construction adding new “suites” for dogs as well as play areas while they are inside.
Although there’s a TV in her room, Redo tells SeehaferNews.com, she watched the construction.
“I watched it more than I watched TV because that was something else different to do,” she said. “And that was very good. And the company that put it up were very efficient people.”
Thanks to the staff at Meadow View, Redo was brought over to Lucky Paws and got the chance to see the new part of the building with her own eyes.
Redo simply said, “It’s amazing, that place is wonderful.”
Redo also had a favorite part of the visit.
“All the kennels for the all the dogs, they all have separate rooms,” she remembered. “That was wonderful.”
Dawn Gadzinski with Meadow View Assisted Living says she and Meadow View Executive Director Jenny Spittel had been talking about this field trip for a couple of weeks, but it almost didn’t happen.
“I didn’t want to go, but (Dawn) talked me into it,” Redo explained.
In the end, Lucy was very glad that she went to see what was done inside.
She was also happy with how well-kept the boutique was.
Stephanie, the owner of Lucky Paws, gave the grand tour to Lucy.
It opened in 2016.
