A former Chippewa Falls resident has been sentenced to jail for a 2021 crash that claimed the life of his wife.
Laramie Schemenauer, charged in St. Croix County, faced charges including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, reckless homicide, and driving without a valid license, causing death.
The crash occurred on I-94 when Schemenauer lost control of his vehicle, causing it to roll into oncoming traffic.
His wife, Stephanie, was killed in the crash.
Schemenauer has been sentenced to 360 days in jail and will serve six years on probation.
