
After announcing the new Chief of Police, the City of Sheboygan is honoring the current Chief ahead of his retirement.
Police Chief Chris Domagalski will be retiring from the Sheboygan Police Department on January 20th after 15 years of service.
Since taking office in January of 2010, Domagalski has provided steadfast leadership, innovative strategies, and unwavering dedication to the community.
In Sheboygan, Chief Domagalski was instrumental in taking the department into an era of being a community-based, neighborhood-focused agency making an effort to conduct preventative policing.
Mayor Ryan Sorenson said, to this point, “Chief Domagalski’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping the Sheboygan Police Department into a force that prioritizes community trust, collaboration, and public safety.”
On Monday, the city announced current Assistant Chief of Police, Kurt Zempel has been picked to fill Domagalski’s role.
A celebration honoring Domagalski’s retirement and swearing in Zempel will be held at City Hall in Sheboygan on February 3rd.
