
Voting booths stand ready for use in a U.S. election.
Today (January 7th) is the last day to file nomination forms for the 2025 Spring Election.
The forms are needed for anyone who wants to run for any elected official’s office, like a common council or judge.
In Manitowoc, four of the five aldermanic incumbents up for reelection have filed their paperwork to try and get another term.
So far, there is only one contested race in District 1 between Incumbent Brett Vanderkin and Challenger Ray Geigel.
In Two Rivers City Council President Scott Stechmesser turned in his nomination paperwork.
As of this morning (January 7th), Incumbents Bill LeClaire and Tim Petri also filed their paperwork to try and keep their seat on the Two Rivers City Council.
So far Jeff Dahlke and Andre Robitaille have filed nomination paperwork to try and get a seat on the council.
Clerks will take nomination papers until 5:00 pm this evening.
