A fresh legislative session has officially started in Madison following the inauguration of new lawmakers.
Yesterday, six new state senators and 31 new representatives took the oath of office at the Wisconsin State Capitol.
Seven of the new Assembly members are Republicans, while all first-time state senators are Democrats.
Despite the influx of new faces, Republicans retain their majority in the state Senate with an 18 to 15 edge, and they continue to control the Assembly with 54 members compared to the Democrats’ 45.
