Acuity Insurance has announced major donations to numerous charitable organizations.
At a December Town Hall meeting, Acuity employees determined the recipients of $680,000 in donations. Based on employee votes, Conquer Cancer the ASCO Foundation, Fresh Meals on Wheels, Mental Health America (MHA), Safe Harbor, The Salvation Army, and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice were selected as recipients of a combined $500,000.
MHA Lakeshore received the largest donation, totaling over $170,000. Donations to the other five organizations ranged from nearly $45,000 to over $90,000.
Each Acuity employee was also invited to select a qualifying charity to receive an additional $100 equaling an additional $180,000.
Following the donation, MHA Lakeshore Board Member Mark Kesler said, “Acuity’s contributions are helping MHA provide hope, change lives, and helping shine a light in the darkest of moments—showing people that it’s ok to not be ok.”
