Two people are okay after a snowmobile fell through some ice.
NBC26 reports that fire officials in the Village of Suamico were called to the incident but didn’t specifically say where it was.
The riders had “self-rescued,” but the snowmobile sunk in about 12 feet of water.
Suamico Fire Chief Joe Bertler said the snowmobile was about 200 yards off a shoreline, and a resident in Cottage Row called 911 to report the incident.
Multiple rescue teams were called because responders didn’t know if the riders had gone down in the water as well.
Bertler says residents should notify authorities if they can rescue themselves
