The Manitowoc Fire Department is getting some new vehicles.
Fire Chief Todd Blaser said on WOMT’s Be My Guest program that two new fire trucks and an ambulance will be coming to the department in Spring 2025.
Blaser says they will replace a 1998 and 2000 fire engine, both of which have been used for more than 20 years.
The engines aren’t the cheapest with both costing close to $1 million.
The ambulance will also show up around Spring and cost about $300,000.
Blaser says he doesn’t want to blame just the pandemic, but everything is costing more than it did before.
The vehicles were purchased back in 2021 and 2022.
