Two Rivers has offered a reminder to residents on the sidewalk snow and ice clearing requirements in the city.
In Two Rivers, snow and ice are required to be removed from any public sidewalk within 24 hours following the end of a snowfall between November 1st and April 30th.
For corner lots, this includes sidewalks and any ramps. If not removed, the City Manager or City Engineer may see to the removal and Two Rivers will bill the cost of said removal to the property owner.
This bill will include the cost of labor, equipment, and material costs incurred in the removal.
Failure to pay that bill may result in additional financial penalties. For a second or any subsequent violations, the property owner may be subject to a $150 forfeiture, court costs, and billing following the city’s removal of ice or snow.
Two Rivers has also reminded that blowing or shoveling snow into the street is against the law and this rule may be enforced by the Police Department or City Engineer.
More information on snow and ice removal ordinances can be found online at two-rivers.org.
