A woman is facing charges after she allegedly smashed multiple plates and a glass decoration at a local restaurant over the weekend.
Officers were first called to the Shopko Mall in Manitowoc Saturday on a report of a woman sitting on the floor drinking alcohol.
The call was rerouted to the Hong Kong Buffet, where the woman had allegedly caused a disturbance.
When the officers approached the 35-year-old woman, she was said to be smelling of alcohol. She told the officers that she is from Sheboygan and came to Manitowoc “for the homeless shelter.”
The owner of the restaurant told police that the woman entered the building and asked to use the restroom.
However, instead of going to the restroom, the woman ran into the buffet area and started throwing food and breaking plates.
At some point, she also threw a glass decoration on the ground, causing it to shatter.
It is estimated that the woman caused around $300 worth of damage.
The woman was arrested on charges of Battery, Criminal Damage to Property, and two counts of Disorderly Conduct.
