A man who was seen swerving in traffic was arrested in Manitowoc over the weekend.
An officer was traveling on North 11th Street, just after 11:30 Friday night (November 22nd), when they saw a vehicle with its taillights out.
As the officer turned around to follow the vehicle, they noted that the vehicle was weaving within its lane of travel.
A traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of North 5th Street and Waldo Boulevard, and when the officers approached the vehicle, they noticed a strong smell of intoxicants.
The 51-year-old man was said to have watery, bloodshot eyes and was slurring his words.
He initially denied consuming any alcohol that night but later admitted to drinking a six-pack of beer before getting behind the wheel.
A field sobriety test was administered, which he failed, leading to an arrest for the man’s 4th OWI.
