Otto Oas VFW Post 659, WWII Veteran Harold Kummer on the Bugle
Several local schools have plans to celebrate our nation’s heroes today (November 11th).
The Mishicot School District is inviting the public to celebrate Veteran’s Day with a program that is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
Local veterans and the general public are all invited to visit the elementary school for the program.
In Two Rivers, Koenig and Magee Elementary Schools will also hold Veteran’s Day programs, however the times for those were not posted on the Two Rivers Public School District website.
In Manitowoc, the students and staff at Monroe Elementary will be hosting an Honor Walk Parade.
Veterans from the area are encouraged to participate in the parade, which will begin at 3:00 p.m.
Students and staff were encouraged to wear red, white, and blue today, and they will cheer on local veterans as they parade through the halls.
Any veteran wanting to participate, will enter through the brown doors in front of school, where they will follow the Main Hallway down to the Library, from there they will make the “circle” around the Library and then come back out using the blue doors by the Main Office.
Any parents or family members who are not a veteran, but would like to partake in this event, may line the sidewalk outside the Main Entrance (the blue doors).
