The Green Bay Police Department has released its traffic safety plan for the month of November.
The traffic safety plan analyzes crash data, citizen complaints, and speed boards to ensure safe travels for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists.
In an effort to reduce traffic crashes, property damage, injury, and death in Green Bay, police then use this data to identify traffic emphasis areas.
These emphasis areas are picked using crash data from the previous three years to determine spots where crashes are likely to occur in the upcoming month.
In November, these areas included Webster Avenue, two locations on East Mason Street, and State Highway 141.
The traffic safety plan also revealed other traffic data from October.
Last month in the City of Green Bay there were 219 car accidents, one fatality, 45 hit and runs, and 28 OWI arrests.
Along with releasing this monthly plan to the public, the Green Bay Police Department also presents it to the Traffic, Bicycle, and Pedestrian Commission Meeting.
