
Wisconsin’s 1st Senate District students are being asked to apply for the Senate Scholar Program.
State Senator Andre Jacque of De Pere announced that the Senate Scholar Program will be offered next year and urges those he represents to apply by November 15th.
The program has experts who teach about constituent relations, research and development of legislation, and bill drafting.
It also has an advanced government curriculum with classroom instruction, roundtable discussions, and a lab component.
Senator Jacque said of the program, “Scholars have the opportunity to put all they have learned into action after staffing the Senate Floor during the session and watching the debate on legislation.”
Students also get to draft their bills and amendments for their own committee and elect committee leadership.
One student from each of the 33 Wisconsin Senate Districts is allowed to participate.
