
Manitowoc’s City Clerk is reminding residents to make sure everything is ready so they can vote in the upcoming November election.
A press release from Mackenzie Reed asks residents who’ve moved to another address, had a name change, or who have not previously registered to vote to stop at the Manitowoc City Clerk’s Office on Quay Street.
State law requires that persons registering to vote have to provide proof of residency. Anyone can register at the City Clerk’s office, which can be done through November 1st at 5:00 pm, while online registration can be done through Wednesday, October 16th.
Reed continues saying if you want to register to vote, you must be a US Citizen, be 18 or older, live in an election district for at least 28 days, and have proof of residency.
The City Clerk’s Office is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.
In-person absentee voting in Manitowoc begins on October 22nd and runs through November 3rd from 7:30 to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 to 2:00 p.m. on weekends.
