U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin has announced millions of dollars in funding, much of which will be going to area cities.
This funding, part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, aims to improve street safety throughout the state.
Of the three cities receiving portions of the funding are Oshkosh and Green Bay.
Oshkosh has received just over $8 million to design and construct a bicycle and pedestrian bridge over I-41 to move non-motorized users from the interstate’s roundabouts.
Green Bay has received $916,000 to create a safety action plan and supplement this planning in the city.
This funding, which hopes to protect bikers and pedestrians, minimize accidents, and slow down cars, also sent $280,000 to the city of La Crosse as well.
