The U.S. Department of State notified Passport Acceptance Facilities, such as the County Clerk’s Office, that the passport execution fee will increase from $25 to $35 effective April 2. The increase only applies to U.S. passport applicants using the DS-11 form, including first-time applicants over age 16, children under 16, and applicants who re-apply after reporting their previous passport lost or stolen, and does not include passport renewals. Lois Kiel, Manitowoc County Clerk suggests that, “If you are planning on taking a trip overseas in the near future, I would highly recommend saving a some money by coming into our office and submitting your Passport Application before the fee increases take effect.” You can find more information on passports, here
