There was a ton of baseball played over the weekend by the Manitowoc American Legion teams.
Post 88’s 17U squad opened up a doubleheader with Marinette Saturday with a 10-0 win, after which the 19U team completed the two-game sweep with a 12-2 win.
Meanwhile, the 16U team had a doubleheader in Oshkosh, where they won the opener 14-3, and the nightcap 9-6.
Sunday was not nearly as successful for the youngest team, as they fell in both ends of a doubleheader in Fond du Lac, 9-0 in the opener and 10-0 in the nightcap.
Post 88 only had three hits on the day, all coming in the evening game.
Jake Hillmer had a good weekend, knocking in 3 runs on just as many hits, while Cameron Shilts had 4 hits and 3 RBI.
Carter Neu and Aiden Reinke also contributed offensively for the 16U squad, each batting in a pair, while Josiah Martin added two hits to his stat sheet.
The youngest Post 88 team will continue their long stretch of games today (July 8th) as they travel to Pulaski, as will the 17U squad.
The 19U team, meanwhile, will be hosting Sheboygan with a 7:00 first pitch at Municipal Field.
