A Manitowoc woman will be spending some time in prison after being convicted on her 5th OWI.
36-year-old Melissa Marie Velazquez was ordered by Judge Mark Rohrer to spend a year and a half in prison, followed by two years on extended supervision.
Velazquez was found guilty due to a no-contest plea on the OWI charge, while a charge of Operating While Revoke was dismissed but read into the record, and a charge of Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration was dismissed on a motion by the prosecutor.
Velazquez was also ordered to pay $600 in fines, and had her license revoked for three years. She was given credit for 71 days served.
Velazquez was initially arrested last September and had her bail set at $5,000 recognizance.
