It was a great day of baseball for Manitowoc’s American Legion Teams, as the 19U and 17U teams both won big on the road in Kewaunee.
The 19U team improved to a perfect 7-0 with an 11-3 win, tallying 9 hits on the day.
Damien Gretz and Tate Hartlaub each drove in 3 runs in the win.
The 17U team meanwhile, took down the home squad 16-5 while scattering 12 hits.
Manitowoc was trailing 5-2 entering the 5th inning, which is when they exploded for 11 runs.
Nearly every batter picked up at least one hit, and nearly everyone drove home at least one run on the day.
The Manitowoc American Legion 16U team is slated to host a doubleheader today.
Game one begins at 5:00 against Bay Port and will be followed at 7:30 by a game against Reedsville, all at Municipal Field.
The 19U team will be back in action tomorrow as they begin a weekend tournament in Marinette, while the 17U team has a doubleheader in Ashwaubenon Friday.
