
One person is facing charges after a disturbance in an Appleton park.
The Appleton Police Department dispatched officers to Erb Park at 8:15 last night (June 25th) on a report of shots being fired near the pavilion.
Officers secured the scene, learning that no one was injured in the incident.
An investigation led police to 19-year-old Tyrese Tupac Shakir Simmons.
When police located Simmons, he was found in possession of a handgun and was arrested on charges of Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Disorderly Conduct, Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Resisting/Obstructing, and Felony Bail Jumping.
Officers will continue to work with the Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office to determine if any additional charges are applicable.
