
The Manitowoc County Mariners have clawed their way back to .500 with an 18-3 win over the Fox River Raiders Saturday.
Former Manitowoc Lincoln running back Malcolm Young got the ball 20 times and rushed for 90 yards, while QB Marcos Alfaro II went 11 for 20 for 178 yards and 1 touchdown to wide receiver Kelvontae McKinney.
He ended up with 74 yards on just two catches, including the 31-yard score.
Michael Quinchilla led the defense with nine total tackles, three sacks, and a blocked punt, while Ethan Limon, Eddie Strickland, and Carson Schemenauer combined to intercept four passes.
The Mariners are back at Ron Rubick Municipal Field this Saturday (June 22nd) to take on the River City Rough Riders.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
