People living in Milwaukee respond positively to a survey asking them if they are satisfied with their police department. The same survey was taken three years ago. Three-fourths of the people contacted say they are at least somewhat satisfied with the job done by Milwaukee Police. That’s about the same satisfaction level reported in 2014. The difference comes when survey takers asked them if they felt safe. Three years ago, 39 percent responded they felt not very safe, or not safe at all. This time, that number has jumped to 55 percent. Interim Police Chief Alfonso Morales has said he is going to focus on getting more officers out into neighborhoods for more personal contact.
