The Manitowoc United hockey team has named a new head coach.
As they enter their first season as a varsity team, Manitowoc United will be under the tutelage of Jeff Gadzinski.
He has been on the bench for United from the beginning, having joined previous head coach Mark Hinz in building the team from a group of mainly freshmen and sophomores to a squad that they believe can compete at the varsity level.
Gadzinski said of his promotion, “I’ve always believed that responsibilities give a man a sense of purpose, and I will never be opposed to adding more purpose in my life.”
Ben Cigler will continue in his role as Assistant Coach, along with several others who have helped the players grow over the years.
Gadzinski, Hinz, and numerous players were on WOMT Sports Talk on April 1st to wrap up the season, and Hinz made the announcement of the bump to varsity play during an appearance on the On The Line Podcast, both of which can be heard at www.SeehaferPodcasts.com.
