
Six Two Rivers Police officers were recognized during an annual awards banquet.
The award winners were announced during a ceremony at Woodland Dunes last month.
Jeremy Stodola received a Valor Award for risking his safety in the efforts to rescue a child at Neshotah Beach.
Private Citizen Cooper Boye also tried to help in saving the child, so he got the Chiefs Award for his historic efforts.
Meanwhile, Assistant Police Chief Mellisa Wiesner got a Merit Award for her role in working with legislation for new laws enacted to assist Law Enforcement and in recognition of becoming the 2023 Wisconsin Woman Police Officer of the Year.
Justin Krueger also received a Merit Award for his quick actions solving a crime and preventing a Two Rivers person from harming themselves and getting them appropriate care.
Cale Beyer, Amanda Verhelst, Leander Menn, and Jacob Schweigl received life-saving awards, while Kathy Schroeder was recognized for her 25 years of service to the TRPD and Rob Wandrie for his 10 years of service.
Police Chief Ben Meinnert thanked Woodland Dunes for hosting the banquet and congratulated everyone on their accomplishments.
