A couple more people are looking to get the Manitowoc 1st District Aldermanic seat, including the former Alderman who had to give it up.
Brett Vanderkin is applying to get his seat back after resigning due to an “unintentional error in filing” regarding his residency.
In a letter to the city, Vanderkin says he resigned to maintain the integrity of the Council and act in the best interest of the city.
Another person who applied is a former alderman, Raymond Geigel.
Three other people, Todd Lotz, Andrew Nichols, and Evelyn Torres, have also applied for the open 1st district seat, which was vacated in May.
The application period for the seat closes on June 13th.
