A lawsuit filed by a former Sheboygan City Administrator against the city has come to an end.
The City Council voted unanimously to approve a $230,000 settlement with former Administrator Todd Wolf, who accused the city of violating his First and 14th Amendment rights during his termination.
Prior to the vote, 2nd District Alderman John Belanger asked for some clarification.
“On reading through this, there is no restrictions as far as any of the documents related to this?” he asked. “There’s no sealed documents anywhere, so this can all be a public record, and we will willfully comply for all requests for such records? That’s my understanding.”
City Attorney Charles Adams confirmed, saying, “The settlement agreement is a public agreement, yes,” but he also clarified that any attorney-client privileged information is not part of that public record.
The City of Sheboygan is still facing lawsuits by former City Planner Chad Pelishek and former Human Resources employee Katherine Kobs, which are still open cases.
The full discussion on the settlement can be found on the recording of the livestream on the WSCS Sheboygan YouTube channel.
