Two school districts in Sheboygan County are among 24 in the state to receive a grant for new school buses.
The money comes from the EPA’s Clean School Bus Program, which was created under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
The Sheboygan Area School District is set to receive $100,000, which will get them four new student transports, while the Random Lake School District is set to receive $395,000.
In total, over $2.7 billion is being given to 1,270 schools around the country, and over 8,500 busses will be replaced.
The Clean Bus Program is set to provide $5 billion between 2022 and 2026 to replace existing school buses with zero-emission and clean school buses.
