
A family dog died during a house fire in Oostburg this week.
WHBL reports that the Oostburg Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on Highway A, roughly two and a half miles west of the Village, at 7:45 Wednesday evening after someone reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the home.
They were joined by five other area departments at the scene, where they found significant damage to the kitchen.
The home was not destroyed, and no humans were home, but crews could not revive a dog that was inside the residence.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Oostburg Fire was aided on the scene by fire teams from Cedar Grove, Waldo, Adell, and Sheboygan Falls.
