A local artist continues to paint a new mural in Two Rivers.
*Two Rivers Main Streets asked Jason Prigge of the Coolest Coast about some different ideas for a mural, and one about Two Rivers being a Bird City USA member made sense.
The mural will feature multiple birds that come to Wisconsin, from a Wood Duck to an Osprey.
The mural also honors Woodland Dunes celebrating 50 years.
“The mural will represent a bunch of different native bird species,” he described. “Their song will actually be able to be accessed via a QR code on the mural itself. And it’s going to be very bright and beautiful.”
An announcement from the city about the mural says this will be Prigge’s biggest one that he’s done.
He says it doesn’t seem that big until you get close enough to the walls.
“It takes a lot of scaffolds, a little bit of rigging, and a lot of ladder work,” he explained. “And if you don’t go home with a sore arm, you’re not working.”
It’s hard to pick a day when the mural will be done because Prigge says it depends on how the weather cooperates.
However, he hopes it will be done by the beginning of June.
The mural is part of the city of Two Rivers’ Goals and Objectives, including the development of the local arts community as a part of the quality of life and economic development.
*We first put Explore Two Rivers as the group painting the mural. Two Rivers Main Street is the group working to get the mural painted. We apologize for the confusion.
