Wisconsin’s recent Drug Take Back Day was a record-setting event, collecting over 55,000 pounds of unwanted prescription medication.
This achievement is the highest in any state in the U.S. since the program began.
Attorney General Josh Kaul noted that removing such a significant amount of medication from circulation enhances public safety.
Since 2010, Wisconsin has collected over a million pounds of drugs, ranking third in the nation behind Texas and California.
The next Drug Take Back Day is scheduled for October.
