The Village of Cleveland Fire Department needed help from multiple departments for a basement fire on Saturday.
Firefighters were called to the 1100 block of Franklin Drive just after 2:00 am. Fire Chief Tony Meyer then activated the MABAS alarm for additional support.
Because of the home’s shape, firefighters couldn’t contain the fire in the basement, and it spread through the walls and up to the attic.
After the fire was put out, multiple fire departments stayed on the scene to monitor the structure.
All departments left the scene four to seven hours later.
Cleveland firefighters didn’t say how much damage was caused, there were no injuries reported while fighting the flames.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
