Boat modelers from six states are coming to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum this weekend.
Today (Saturday) and Sunday (May 19th), the 47th annual Midwestern Model Ships and Boat contest takes over the museum.
It’s the longest-running model contest in the Midwest. Emily Shedal with the museum says ships of all kinds will be there.
“World War II boats, then we’ve also got a white-star liner the S.S. Republic coming this year,” she explained. “Also, the Ann Arbor number 1 car ferry too. Also, I know there’s a Civil War boat coming so they span throughout history.”
The public is invited to attend the event at 10 am after all the models are set up. You also get the chance to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Model.
The event runs until 4 pm today (Saturday) and 10 am to 2 pm on Sunday.
