Although Memorial Day is about a week away, the Wisconsin DNR reminds residents how busy it will be around some of the most popular state parks.
Because of that, they’re asking visitors to go to some of what they call hidden gems to reduce traffic. One of the hidden gems they mention is Point Beach State Forest just north of Two Rivers.
Highlights at the park included Rawley Point, which the DNR calls a great photo opportunity, and also mentions the specialized wheelchairs to allow anyone to get around the park.
Other state parks mentioned included Tower Hill State Park just outside of Spring Green and the Northern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest.
DNR staff remind residents to be patient with staff and fellow visitors and always stay on the path.
