The University of Wisconsin’s president, Jay Rothman, expressed his disappointment regarding how UW-Milwaukee’s chancellor handled recent campus protests.
On Twitter, Rothman announced he is reviewing the agreement Chancellor Mark Mone signed to end the pro-Palestinian protests over the weekend.
Although Rothman did not specify which part of the agreement he found problematic, he emphasized the necessity for the university to remain ‘viewpoint neutral’ in handling protests.
The agreement in question calls for a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
In return, protesters agreed to disband their campus encampment and avoid disrupting this weekend’s graduation ceremonies.
