The Batter and Mac Bakery in Menomonee Falls has canceled a planned drag queen story time and cupcake decorating event.
Organizer Brittany Wohlfeil intended for performer Lucinda Reer to entertain children in June.
However, the event was called off after Village Trustee Ann Lessila publicized details on Facebook, arguing that parents needed to be informed about the event’s nature.
Wohlfeil, fearing backlash, decided to cancel and is exploring other ways to support Pride Month.
