The Fond du Lac Police Department brought out the big guns during a chase of a suspect over the weekend.
The Department dispatched officers to the scene of a crash in the area of North Peters Avenue and Security Drive at around 1:30 Saturday morning.
They arrived to find a 20-year-old resident locked in the vehicle, which had struck a light pole, a stop sign, a street sign, and a tree.
The driver refused to exit the vehicle, and with smoke coming from the car, he backed out and drove away down North Peters Avenue.
He eventually drove through a fence and into a nearby field, where he struck another fence and an unoccupied vehicle.
The Police Department brought out their Bear Cat armored vehicles to help keep the suspect from fleeing again, which was effective, as the suspect was arrested without further incident.
He is facing charges of Operating While Intoxicated, Fleeing, and Recklessly Endangering Safety as the case remains under investigation.
