Law enforcement agencies around the area are working to help teach people about sexual violence this month.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness month, and the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement which reads, “During the month of April, national awareness is brought to the topic of sexual violence, the impact it has on each victim, family, and friends, and the community. The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office supports efforts for community education and the prevention of sexual violence.”
Meanwhile, the Sheboygan Police Department has teamed with Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County to gather items for the shelter.
The wish list includes items such at sponges, dish soap, and paper plates, just to name a few.
The full list can be found on the Sheboygan Police Department Facebook page.
