A family in Appleton is without four furry family members following a fire Tuesday morning.
The Appleton Fire Department reports that a fire in the 900 block of North Richmond Street killed two dogs and two cats.
The fire started at 8:30 a.m., with the initial call reporting smoke and flames visible in a bedroom.
Crews arrived on the scene and got the fire under control within 10 minutes, but not before it caused an estimated $70,000 in damage and killed the four animals.
One human resident was also home at the time, but they were uninjured.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined
Appleton Fire was assisted on the scene by the Appleton Police Department and Gold Cross Ambulance.
