
Today is the April 2nd General Primary, and there are several contested races throughout the county.
In Manitowoc, four seats are up for election in the 4th, 6th, 8th, and 9th Districts, while the 5th will already have a seat filled.
In Two Rivers, five candidates will be facing off for one of three seats on the city council.
The Manitowoc County Board of Supervisors has six races happening in the 3rd, 8th, 15th, 21st, 22nd, and 25th. Six candidates are running for one of three seats on the Village of Cleveland Trustee’s Board.
Several school districts also have races. Four people are running for a seat on the Manitowoc Public School Board, while four are facing off in Howards Grove for two seats on the board.
In Kiel, five people are facing off for four seats on the school board.
There will also be some local questions to be voted on for some ballots, including in the Town of Cato, where residents will vote on whether the town board can appoint a Town Clerk/Treasurer.
In Valders, the school district is asking to exceed their revenue limit by $1.3 million to pay teachers, make technology upgrades, and see if they can help with student mental health needs.

Polls opened at 7:00 a.m. and will close at 8:00 tonight.
