Two new people are working for the Manitowoc Lincoln Park Zoo.
Kelsey Kurz has become the newest full-time Zookeeper after working as a seasonal, year-round staff member for the last three years.
Kurz has a bachelor’s degree in animal biology and geology and a background working with domestic dogs and cats. She’s also worked with horse camps, teaching girls about horse riding and care.
The zoo also has a new member on their board. Maggie Rettler moved from Green Bay to Manitowoc, and so far, she and her husband have loved living next to one of the Great Lakes.
After falling in love with the Mariners Trail and finding the zoo, she knew she wanted to get involved.
Previously, she spent many summers canoeing outdoors, eventually leading to a month-long paddling excursion in Northern Alberta and Saskatchewan in Canada.
