A garage fire in Green Bay has left a family without a place to live, and their beloved felines.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department reports that crews were dispatched to the 200 block of White Oak Terrace at around 11:00 p.m. Saturday on a report of smoke coming from a garage.
The garage was attached to a two-story residence, but crews were able to keep the blaze from spreading into the living area of the home.
However, the smoke from the fire did cause substantial damage to the residence, making it unlivable.
The heavy smoke was also deemed responsible for the killing of two housecats belonging to the three residents who have been displaced.
The fire caused an estimated $60,000 in damage while the cause remains under investigation.
