A stabbing outside of a Green Bay bar on St. Patrick’s Day has led to charges being filed against the assailant.
According to WFRV TV, officers were called to the bar on South Broadway Street at around 2:00 a.m. on March 17th, where they found an individual with multiple deep lacerations.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and told police that he had been in an altercation with the suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Darrell McGillivray.
A bartender had kicked McGillvray out of the bar, and the victim went outside to find a fight in progress.
He was struck a couple of times before he realized he had also been stabbed. McGillivray then fled the scene, but he later turned himself in, claiming self-defense.
In total, McGillivray is facing two charges, Aggravated Battery and Disorderly Conduct, each with Use of a Dangerous Weapon enhancement, and as a repeat offender.
He is due back in court on March 27th for his preliminary hearing.
