A lawsuit has been initiated against a former UW-Eau Claire chancellor, alleging racial discrimination.
Olga Diaz, who previously held the position of Vice Chancellor of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Student Affairs from June 2021 to November 2022, filed the lawsuit.
She claims that Chancellor Jim Schmidt pressured her to resign, citing distraction and loss of team support.
Diaz asserts that this action followed her support of Rochelle Hoffman, who also filed a discrimination lawsuit against the university.
The university system has refuted Hoffman’s allegations.
