
Last week, some Manitowoc County farmers and residents represented the county at the National Farmers Union Convention in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The Wisconsin Farmers Union went to the convention, including Michael Slattery of Maribel, representing the WFU as a delegate.
Mallahidh Mleziva of Manitowoc also attended at the final event in a year-long commitment to the NFU Beginning Farmer Institute.
The conventions included speeches from the NFU president honoring members and giving out awards.
The Wisconsin Farmers Union received several accolades from the main state, including a commendation from NFU President Rob Larew because of the “steadfast growth.”
There was also debate on different policy topics that were approved during the convention.
