A man has been charged after starting a fight at a Manitowoc bar.
Manitowoc Police were called to Van’s bar on North 9th Street last Friday around 9:30 pm for someone who was jumped by the suspect.
After interviewing several witnesses who said they suddenly saw two men fighting on the ground, the victim said they were going to the bar and saw the 28-year-old attacker strike him.
He said the suspect had been looking for him and sending threats that said, “I’m going to find you.”
Video footage from the bar was eventually given to police and showed the suspect wearing black pants, a black sweatshirt with white lettering, and black shoes coming from the top of the screen and then hitting the victim.
Both ended up going to the ground when the victim went for the suspect’s legs. Police tried to get the aggressor to come to police headquarters, but he didn’t show up.
The man will be charged with substantial battery with intent to cause bodily harm and disorderly conduct.
