Damage is estimated at $150,000 after a home in Appleton caught fire early Thursday (February 7th) morning.
The Appleton Fire Department was called to the 600 block of E. Francis Street at 4 am after a phone call that there was a fire in the back of the home.
When they arrived, they found the exterior fully engulfed in flames, with fire extending to both the first and second floors.
Fire companies made simultaneous attacks on the interior and exterior fire. Everyone in the home made it out safe, and nobody was injured.
It took about 45 minutes to put the fire out. The cause of the fire is still being figured out, but properly working smoke detectors were not found in the house.
Appleton Firefighters remind residents to check their smoke detectors regularly.
