Two bills authored by an Eastern Wisconsin Assemblyman have passed in the Assembly.
The measures, written by Manitowoc Representative Paul Tittl, aim to help hunters continue their long-standing traditions in the state.
The first bill, known as Senate Bill 586, would allow hunters to use air guns for large game only during seasons that are open to firearm hunting.
The second bill, officially known as Senate Bill 587, redefines muzzle-loading firearms for hunting purposes and expands the definition to include breech-loaded muzzleloaders to be used during the designated muzzleloader season.
Tittl called both measures important as they allow hunters to “have the option to use new technology to improve the quality, safety, and effectiveness of their hunt.”
